Free Smartphones and Tablets Scheme for 40 Lakh Students of Uttar Pradesh in 2022- 23
Uttar Pradesh Government is going to distribute Free Smartphones and Tablets to 40 Lakh Students of Graduate, Post Graduate, Diploma Holders, Technical, Para-Medical, Nursing and Others every year. IT & Electronics Department has recently sent a proposal to State Government in the Financial Year 2022- 23.
Rs.5000 Crore will be spent every year by distributing free tablets and smartphones to students. The state government has made complete arrangements for this. The department has sent a proposal to the government to distribute 40- 50 lakh tablets and smartphones every year, so it will not make an extra burden upon the Government.
Additional Chief Secretary of the Department has told that This scheme will be run up to 5 years. By running the scheme up to 5 years, the department will achieve the target of distributing the free tablets and smartphones to 02 Crore Students easily. The state government's primary purpose for distributing free tablets and smartphones is to help every student to achieve quality education through online sources, virtual classes, etc.
Due to COVID-19, many students have left their studies in the middle. So to cover them, many institutes and colleges have started virtual classes. By using smartphones and tablets, candidates can easily attend their classes and other study resources.
On Monday (11/04/2022), Free Tablets and Smartphones has been distributed at IT College of Lucknow. More tablets and smartphones will also be distributed to other colleges and students. For more updates, please keep checking the blog and official website of UP Government.
