The Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Mumbai has recently invited application for the post of Inspector of Income Tax, Tax Assistant and Multi Tasking Staff under Sports Quota. Eligible candidates can apply for the post by submitting the application online before the last date.

Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university or equivalent.

Tax Assistant


18-27 yrs

Bachelor’s Degree and Data Entry speed of 8000 key depressions per hour.

Rs.25,500- 81100/-

Multi Tasking Staff


18-25 yrs

Matriculation or equivalent from a recognized University /Board.


Sports Eligibility

  • Sportsmen who have represented a State or the country in the National or International competition.
  • Sportsmen who have represented their University in the InterUniversity Tournaments conducted by the Inter-University Sports Boards.
  • Sportsmen who have represented the State School Teams in the National Sports/games for schools.
  • Sportsmen who have been awarded National Awards in Physical Efficiency under the National Physical Efficiency Drive. 

Selection Process- The applications will be scrutinized and suitable candidates will be shortlisted for the further selection process. For selection, the short listed candidates will be required to appear for document verification and ground/proficiency test (If required).

Important Points

The upper age limit is relaxed up to a maximum of 5 years for Unreserved/OBC candidates, 10 years in the case of SC/ST candidates.

Only one application should be submitted by the candidate.

Candidates need to provide the following documents at the time of Document Verification-

  • Relevant Sports Certificates.
  • Matriculation/SSC or equivalent certificate for age proof.
  • Education Documents.
  • Caste/Community Certificate (If applicable).
  • Aadhar Card/PAN Card/Voter ID Card/Driving License or any other Government issued ID proof.
  • Address proof.
